Purpose:

The aim of this study is to learn about the post-TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation) recovery process from caregivers and patients who have undergone TAVI in the past year and who live close to and at a distance from a high volume medical heart centre. The aim is to better understand the needs of older adult patients and caregivers throughout the TAVI process, especially during the year following the procedure. We are particularly interested in understanding the experiences of patients how live further away from these specialist heart centres and compare this to people who have the procedure and recover in their own communities. Understanding these experiences will enable us to provide better support to patients undergoing these procedures and their family members.
